No welds to fail – 100 % performance guarantee over the life of the building
Embossed instead of cutting out metal – frame material is sandwiched between the hinge and reinforcement bracket for maximum strength
Hollow Metal Hinge Preparation
Screw holes drilled in 10 ga. (0.134″) steel reinforcement plate
Threads tapped with traditional tapping machinery
0.134″ Depth of thread capture (same as thickness of reinforcement)
6 spot welds are the only connection between the reinforcement plate and frame
Failure of welds cause total failure of opening

Hinge Preparations – Standard
Please refer to the Hinge template for size and screw locations. Hinge backsets are fixed and cannot be changed. If ordering Timely frames prepared for other manufacturers’ vertical hinge locations, hinge backset on door must conform to hinge backset on frame.
Timely’s TA-58 Reinforcement Bracket is factory applied to the back side of the frame to provide a strong anchor for the continuous hinge of your choosing.

When using gear driven continuous hinges, a wide throw hinge must be used to avoid conflict between the gear housing and the casing. Standard throw gear driven hinges will contact the casing when the door is open approximately 80°.
Hinge Preparations – Double Acting Spring Hinge
Double Acting Hinges are attached to a cased opening jamb using standard machine screws.
In this installation, a TA-25 is jobsite applied to the center of the frame on the back side prior to installation on the wall. Once the frame is installed, the hinge screw holes are located and then drilled and tapped for machine screw threads. The door is mounted to the hinge flange and tested for proper operation. The door must be sized appropriately or the strike stile must have a radius to provide necessary clearance. Once the door is operating as required, the hinge springs are tightened using a tension bar to provide the necessary closing force.
