What is a borrowed light frame?

A glazed opening in an interior wall that does not include a door.

When a customer orders a 3/0 x 4/0 borrowed light frame, what is the net inside dimension of our frame?

The net inside dimension of our frame would be 36" x 48".

What is the net glass size?

The net glass size would be 35 3/4" x 47 3/4" because the deduction in glass size is 1/8" off each side. The dimension of the glass must be smaller to allow for the proper clearance/expansion.

What is a sidelight frame?

A door frame that also includes an attached glazed panel as part of the assembly.

What is a mullion?

A mullion is a section of frame that divides the opening between a door and a sidelite or a separate framed glazed opening. A mullion can be positioned either vertically or horizontally.
